PREP Write out these terms under the class post and define them:
Scheduling: The time that a show is set to be played on the tv e.g. cuffs is scheduled at 8pm on Wednesday night.
Live Television: Is when a television program is broadcasting in real time.
Secondary Screening: Is when a television show which has showed live is shown a second time.
Audience Interactivity: Audience interactivity is when the audience interacts with the show.
The Watershed: Is the time in the evening where the shows have to be suitable for children to watch this time in thee UK is 9 pm the shows before the water shed can't have swear words or explicit scenes. After 9pm Tv that is not suitable for children come on.
Peak Viewing Time: The peak viewing time is the time is after work from 6pm to 10pm.
High production values: This is what is expected of the BBC because of their funding it is when the set cast and film quality is to a high standard.

ReplyDeleteThe definition of 'second screening' on page 22 of the OCR text book.It refers to audience's increasing use of social media such as tweeting and joining Facebook discussions about a programme : it encourages audiences to be active rather than passive
Be prepared to offer more information on 'interactivity' such as viewers being encouraged to vote for favourites, an activity which increases the audience's commitment to the programme /channel.
'High production values' yes - this refers to the high quality of the set, costumes, design, locations
